Traffic and speed of traffic

My wife and I almost daily cross at Morton and Vedder at the crosswalk. Many times cars will almost run you over or have to slam on the brakes because they are speeding in that area. I have called the city twice regarding the safety matter in the last 2 years, but no satisfactory response. I have requested a proper flashing crosswalk.
