I think the idea of adults drinking in any public park is ludicrous. Our parks are meant for all public enjoyment, including all ages. Why would any parent want to expose their children seeing people drinking alcohol in a public park? Think about this and the future if this continues. I walk in Townsend Park almost every day and once seen a small group of people sitting a table playing loud music, drinking, swearing and talking loud. It was obvious that only two of them were adults. This is unacceptable. I'm sure council can think of better ideas.

People are used to arranging a designated driver when they go to a bar, not a park. A significant public awareness campaign needs to accompany a project like this to ensure we are making good choices and arranging for a ride home. Leaving a bar at 2300h is different than leaving a park at 1400h, designated drivers are not part of our culture for that circumstance and may be overlooked.
