Consultation has concluded

We are planning to install new playground equipment in James Street Park inRendering of a playground with grey slides and blue railings 2021. The City’s long-term plan for this park includes two playground areas, one for ages 2-5 and one for ages 5-12. The first phase of this project is the installation of the playground area for ages 2-5.

After reviewing your feedback on this page, as well as the feedback we received via email and over the phone, Option 2 was voted most popular. The structure has been ordered. Thank you to everyone who gave us their feedback!

Paula Park has an age 2-5 playground so would suggest a switch in approach to the playground at James Street by first installing an age 5-12 playground and then in the future an age 2-5 playground. Thanks.

Option 2 looks like it would be the best. It’s a bit sad that there isn’t possibility for a small toddler swing though because young children love them so much! We are so thrilled that this playground is finally going in!
I also agree with another comment about Paula park- it needs major updating!

Thank you for putting in this park. Next up let’s get Paula park updated and more suitable for all ages play. There are quite a few families with older kids and tweens in the neighborhood that would really appreciate Paula park updates

Our two 3-year-olds gave Option 1 a hard pass. They like Option 2 and Option 3. I feel that Option 3 duplicates many of the features found on the playground at F G Leary.
