What We Heard

Starting with three draft designs, we gathered your feedback through two surveys and a virtual meeting. The new skatepark in Rosedale is the result of your feedback, an analysis of the neighbourhood and overall Chilliwack skatepark network, site conditions, and creative custom concrete design.

The final concept was selected for its openness and ability to have circular flow, as well as the ability for multiple riders to skate/bike/scooter in parallel. Local community users commented that the essential beginner-height ledge and flat rail features were the highest priority, along with a combination of banks and quarter pipe features to learn tricks on and to provide flow.

Graph titled 'Which is your preferred design direction?" showing 20 votes for #1 - Handrail, Hubba Ledges and Street Essentials, 44 votes for # 2 - Open Plaza, and 11 votes for #3 - Skate Path.
